Install the Skill in Claude Settings
Go to Claude.ai → Settings → Skills and upload midlife-romance-coauthor.skill. This wires the full co-author instructions into every future conversation — you only need to do this once.
Start a New Chat & Upload Your Setup File
Open a fresh Claude conversation and upload your my-book-setup.md. Claude will read it, lock your pen name, format, and niche, then confirm everything before asking for YES to proceed.
Write Chapter by Chapter
Claude builds your Story Bible and Introduction first, then pauses. Type YES after each section and it delivers the next chapter. Keep a Google Doc open and paste each chapter in as you go.
Open a New Claude Chat
Start a fresh conversation. No settings changes required — everything Claude needs is in the two files you downloaded.
Upload Both Files at Once
Attach midlife-romance-coauthor.skill and my-book-setup.md in the same message. You can add a short note like: “Please read both files and begin my book.” Claude will load the co-author instructions from the skill file and your locked settings from the setup file.
Write Chapter by Chapter
Same experience as Method A — Story Bible, Introduction, then one chapter at a time with YES to continue. The skill file stays active for the full conversation.
Quality Is Automatic Either Way
The skill enforces paragraph minimums, the Tension Reframe Rule, chapter-ending checks, and a full post-generation scan before every chapter is shown to you. If something feels off, type “Rewrite that chapter” and Claude runs all quality checks again from scratch.
